Sanju Samson has had to abandon ship due to national duty. The Kerala captain has a lifeline in India Cricket Team after he was recalled following the World Cup. Samson will look to impress the selectors again in the IND vs SA ODI series and aim to find some consistency in India colours. After a couple of days’ break, Samson will fly to South Africa for the ODI series starting December 17. The players in the ODI series including KL Rahul will assemble in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
Sanju Samson: Mixed bag in domestic
Sanju Samson will be eager to prove his worth once again for India after a call-up for IND vs SA ODI series. He warmed up for the event with Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. But it has been a mixed bag instead.
He had a lukewarm Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 with 138 runs in six innings. However, he did amp up his strike rate to score at 145.26.
In the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy, Sanju Samson scored 293 runs including a brilliant century against Railways. However, he has had to lead the team to join the India squad.
With no place in IND vs SA T20I series in a T20 World Cup cycle, Sanju Samson has only three ODIs and an IPL 2024 to impress selectors.
