Sanju Samson explains what he felt after getting ignored from India vs Sri Lanka ODI series

Sanju Samson recently unveiled the logo of the newly formed Kerala Cricket League (KCL).

Sanju Samson, a name synonymous with immense talent and potential, has found himself on the periphery of the Indian cricket team. Despite being hailed as one of the country’s most promising batters, his international career has been a tale of unfulfilled promise.

Hard luck for Sanju?

With just 46 games across all formats in nearly a decade, Samson’s opportunities have been limited. While injuries and team combinations have played their part, the Kerala-born cricketer has also failed to capitalize on the chances he has received. His exclusion from the Indian playing XI on numerous occasions has left many questioning his future in the Indian setup.

T20 WC but poor form!

A defining moment came when Samson was included in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup. While he didn’t get to play a single match, Samson became the World Champion alongside other 14 players. However, subsequent performances, including three ducks in five innings against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, have raised massive concerns.

What does Sanju Samson have to say?

I will just go and play whenever they select me. That’s it! End of the day, our team is playing well. I am a kind of person who believes in higher purpose. I just try to take things positively under controllable circumstances and put the efforts,” said Sanju when asked about his constant snub from Team India. He told this to Zee.

Undeterred by the setbacks, Samson maintains a positive outlook. His comments about focusing on controllable factors and trusting the process reflect his determination. However, with stiff competition for places in the Indian team, the 29-year-old will need to produce consistent performances to cement his spot.
