Pakistan has changed its selectors, captain, and team, but some things remain the same. In their case, it’s their fielding. Known for their shoddy fielding, the Shan Masood-led side produced yet another memorable drop during the AUS vs PAK 1st Test in Perth. With Australia 74-0 after 15 overs, debutant Aamer Jamal induced an edge from Usman Khawaja.
However, Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafique decided to give the Aussie opener a chance. Jamal deceived Khawaja with a short ball, catching the upper edge. The ball skied towards the slip cordon, with Shafique running back to the catch.
However, not only did Shafique drop the catch, but it also went for a boundary after hitting his chest.
David Warner & Usman Khawaja show poise amid controversies
It was only last week that former Australia pacer Mitchell Johnson made a scathing remark on Warner. The pacer clamied the Warner does not deserve a ‘hero send-off’. A lot was said about the same, but Warner chose to answer on the field instead.
Similarly, Khawaja wanted to show solidarity with people in Palestine but was denied the right to do so. People were supporting and disagreeing with him, but he silenced them all with his innings in Perth.
