Saim Ayub & Mohammad Amir promoted to platinum category before PSL 2025 draft

Registration for the PSL 2025 draft and the trade window is open, while the relegation process and retention will be done this month. The draft will be hosted on January 11, 2025.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has released the player categories ahead of the 2025 season draft. 87 players from five franchises have received renewed contracts, and the biggest winners are Hasan Ali, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Amir, and Usama Mir, who have been upgraded from the diamond to the platinum category. 

PSL 2025 player categories renewals out

16 players have been awarded the diamond category. These included four players from Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans, three players from Karachi Kings and Islamabad United, two players from Peshawar Zalmi, and one player from Lahore Qalandars. 30 players are part of the gold category. These included seven players from Zalmi, five from Kings, Qalandars, and Gladiators, while United and Sultans have four players in the category.

Of the 16 players awarded silver-grade contracts, four each are from Gladiators and Qalandars, three from Zalmi, two from Kings and Sultans, while United has just one. In the Emerging category, among the 12 players are included. Three players each are part of United and Zalmi. Kings and Sultans have two players each, while Gladiators and Qalandars have one player each.
