Ravichandran Ashwin on Friday became the latest and only the second Indian bowler to go into the elite club of 500 wickets in Tests. Ashwin made his Test debut against West Indies in 2011 and has since become an integral part of the Indian side. In Tests, he became only the fifth spinner to cross the 500-wicket threshold.

It is an extremely proud moment for India and the bowler himself to be named in the same bracket as some of the best in the business. The spin legends to take over 500 wickets in their Test careers include Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Shane Warne (708), Anil Kumble (619), and Nathan Lyon (517). Moreover, he became the second fastest bowler to bag 500 Test wickets after Muttiah Muralitharan.

Social users joined in the celebration and hailed Ashwin as one of the best bowlers ever to don the Indian jersey. Let’s take a look at how the social users reacted to Ashwin’s wonderful feat.
