Sad to see you leave: Ritika Sajdeh pens heartfelt message for husband Rohit Sharma

Rohit announced his retirement from the T20I format soon after winning the T20 World Cup.

Following his decision to retire from the T20I format following the T20 World Cup final victory over South Africa in Barbados on June 29, Rohit Sharma, the captain of India that won the World Cup, received a special message on Monday from his wife, Ritika Sajdeh.

Ritika lays feelings bare

Ritika wrote a heartfelt message for Rohit on Instagram on Monday. She said that watching Rohit fulfill his dream of winning the World Cup has been heartwarming and motivating.

Ro, I know what this has meant to you. This format, this cup, these men, this journey and this entire process of getting what you’ve always dreamed of. I know how hard these last few months have been for you. I know the toll it’s taken on your heart, mind and body but watching you achieve your dream was incredibly emotional and inspiring.”

As your wife, I am immensely proud of what you’ve achieved and the impact you’ve had on this game and the people who love it; but as someone who loves your game I’m sad to see you leave any part of it behind. I know you’ve thought long and hard about what’s best for this team but that doesn’t make watching you leave that part of it behind any easier. I love you so much and I am so incredible proud to call you mine!” said Ritika.

India became the first team to win the T20 World Cup without losing a single game thanks to Rohit’s flawless campaign management. Rohit was the second-highest run scorer in the tournament, demonstrating his excellent batting season. Rohit announced his retirement from the T20I format in the post-match press conference of the final.
