The moment everyone is been waiting with bated breath finally arrived today. Sachin Tendulkar’s life-size statue was unveiled on Wednesay at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, BCCI Treasurer Ashish Shelar, and Tendulkar were present at the Wankhede Stadium today to unveil the statue.
Along with these dignatories, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Amol Kale, Secretary Ajinkya Naik, and other members of the Apex Council were also reportedly present.
The life-size statue of Tendulkar captures him playing one of his iconic shots and is placed adjacent to the Sachin Tendulkar stand. The statue is sculpted by artist Pramod Kamble, a painter and sculptor originating from Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra.

Exactly after ten years, when Tendulkar played his final match at his home ground in Mumbai, the statue will now be placed at Wankhede. Earlier, it was also stated the statue of Tendulkar would be unveiled on his 50th birthday. However, that could not materialize as the finishing touches were yet to be made.

Now, after six months, the statue will finally be unveiled, capturing Tendulkar’s enigma. The legendary batter finished his international batter by topping the run-scoring charts in Tests and ODIs. In the longest format, Tendulkar finished 15921 runs, while in ODIs he ended up scoring 18,426 runs. He capped off his ODI career by winning the World Cup for India.
Tendulkar’s dream of being a WC winner came true in his sixth World Cup for India. After India’s famous win at the Wankhede Stadium, Tendulkar was carried on his shoulders by Virat Kohli and Yousuf Pathan. All those happy memories will flood Tendulkar when his statue is unveiled ahead of the India vs Sri Lanka game tomorrow at Wankhede Stadium.
