Sachin Tendulkar STATUE: A life-size statue of Sachin Tendulkar will be erected inside Mumbai’s renowned Wankhede Stadium, where the legendary batter played his final match for India. The statue is expected to be unveiled on April 23, which is Tendulkar’s 50th birthday, or later this year during the 50-over World Cup, according to cricket officials. Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Amol Kale confirmed the announcement to The Indian Express.
“It will be the first statue in Wankhede Stadium, we will decide where it will be placed,” he said.

“He (Tendulkar) is a Bharat Ratna and everyone knows what he has done for cricket. As he turns 50, it will be a small token of appreciation from the MCA. I spoke to him three weeks ago and his consent was received,” Kale said.
Tendulkar represented India in 200 Test matches, 463 ODIs, and one T20. In terms of runs scored in international cricket, he has the most runs (34,357) and hundreds (100).
At the Wankhede, Tendulkar already has a stand that bears his name. The MCA chose to dedicate a corporate box in Sunil Gavaskar’s honour and a stand in Dilip Vengsarkar’s honour last season.
Statues of Cricketers in India
In stadiums across the nation, there aren’t many life-size sculptures of cricket players. At the Holkar Stadium in Indore, the VDCA Stadium in Andhra Pradesh, and the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, there are three different statues of the former big-hitting Indian great C K Nayudu.
Some players have wax sculptures and stands named for them in their respective state associations.
There are also many former cricket greats represented in Madame Tussauds in London.
The late Shane Warne is memorialised in one of the most well-known cricket player sculptures at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
