Sachin Tendulkar misses daughter Sara’s convocation to fulfill voting duty in Mumbai

Sachin has chosen to stay back in the country and has not travelled to United Kingdom where Sara will be convocated after completing her MSc in Clinical and Public Health from UCL

There can be no question about Sachin Tendulkar’s commitment to India. The batter who stood in front of some of the fiercest bowlers of World Cricket, facing them without fear to fulfill his duties towards his country. So, it is perhaps not a surprise that the master-blaster has decided to put his duty towards his country first instead of attending his daughter’s post-graduation ceremony.

Sachin puts country ahead of family

Sachin has not travelled to United Kingdom where Sara will be convocated. Sara has completed her MSc in Clinical and Public Health from UCL. Tendulkar has been recognised as the ‘national icon’ of the Election Commission (EC). He has been raising voter awareness in the electoral process. The little master has stayed back in the country to cast his vote. Elections in Mumbai are on Monday, and Sachin has made sure he stays in India to fulfill his duty as a responsible citizen. Sachin on Monday casted his vote in his designated booth. His son Arjun accompanied him.

Meanwhile, Sachin’s wife and Sara’s mother Anjali Tendulkar has travelled to the UK to attend her daughter’s convocation ceremony. Both Sachin’s daughter and his wife will not cast their vote as they will be out of the country.

Other Indian stars who are residents of Mumbai such as Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Sarfaraz Khan are expected to cast their votes sometimes during the course of the day.
