Noor Ahmad’s maiden T20 fifer spins Royals out of track
Chasing a huge target of 204 runs, the Royals got off to an awful start, losing openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler in the first two overs. Noor Ahmad arrived to dismantle the middle and lower order in the 7th over.
Royals skipper David Miller was the spinner’s first victim. In the very next delivery, Andile Phehlukwayo was caught and bowled. Bjourn Fortuin was the next to depart, courtesy of a catch from POTM Breetzke. Noor then wrapped up the match with two consecutive wickets in the first two deliveries of the 13th over. The Royals were bowled out for just 83 runs.
Breetzke’s 43-ball 78-run knock earned him the Player of the Match award. With this huge win, Durban Super Giants firmly established themselves at the top of the SA20 table.
