SA20 Match Timing: Cricket South Africa and partners Supersport have announced the schedule of the SA20, which will kick off in January next year. The tournament is South Africa’s latest and perhaps last attempt at a successful franchise competition and will feature 6 teams and 33 games. The organisers clinched a vital broadcast deal with Viacom18 last week, and the matches have been adjusted to suit with the needs of the Indian audience. In the schedule announced by Cricket South Africa on Tuesday, the 33-match tournament will culminate with the final at the Wanderers on February 11. The competition will, however, see a week-long break for international cricket – a three-match ODI series between the hosts South Africa and England – before the resumption in Durban on February 2.

Durban will in fact be hosting only two matches at Kingsmead in the second half of the schedule. At the same time, the rest will be held at Wanderers and SuperSport Park in Centurion due to a clash with the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup, beginning February 10.

More importantly, the matches will begin at 9 PM IST, with the organisers aiming to lure the Indian audience. SA20 signed a decade-long partnership with Viacom18, with the telecast on Sports 18 and JioCinema. The matches will begin at 9:00 PM IST, while double headers will see the earlier kick-off time at 5:00 PM IST.
