SA20 League FINALS Tickets: The South African T20 League, or SA20, has quickly become a hit with Proteas fans. The finals of the SA20 League will be held at Wanderers in Johannesburg on 11 February. Despite the finalists yet to be determined, tickets to the finals have been sold out three weeks in advance. The league which is also fondly called Mini-IPL is a major step forward for South African cricket and a sign of the country’s growing appetite for the game. The SA20 commissioner Graeme Smith praised the tournament as being successful so far.
“The first half of the SA20 has been a massive success so far, it has been amazing to see the fans filling up the stadiums,” the former Proteas captain said.

The SA20 is the latest in a series of franchise-based T20 competitions, owned in full by Indian Premier League teams. The league features six teams, all of them owned by the owners of IPL franchises. The teams are Durban’s Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, Mumbai Indians Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Each team has a 17-player roster, with a maximum of eight overseas signings and a maximum of four players in any one game.

The league has attracted some of the best exponents of the international T20 game in its ranks. Among the big names are Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler, Eoin Morgan, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, and Alzarri Joseph. South African cricket fans are also looking forward to watching the highly promising 19-year-old Dewald Brevis, nicknamed Baby AB because of his resemblance in looks and batting style to AB de Villiers. Brevis smashed a South African T20 record 162 off just 57 balls for his local franchise team in November.

“It’s exciting for us to sell out the final so early on in the competition, however, there is still a long road to go until 11 February,” Graeme Smith added.
The SA20 League has been a breath of fresh air for South African cricket and its fans, giving them something to cheer about. With the final at the Wanderers already sold out three weeks in advance, it’s clear to see that the future of cricket in South Africa looks bright.
