SA20 2025 Retentions: Full list of players signed and retained by teams

Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the unbeaten champions of the SA20, having won both seasons of the tournament.

The third edition of SA20 2025 will be played from January 9 to February 8. Ahead of the tournament, five out of six teams have announced their squads, including players they have signed and retained for the upcoming season. Apart from the Pretoria Capitals, all other teams—Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Paarl Royals, MI Cape Town, Joburg Super Kings, and Durban’s Super Giants—have revealed their retention lists.

For the Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s attempt to secure a hat-trick of championships in the SA20, Aiden Markram will continue to serve as captain.

In addition, the Paarl Royals have kept David Miller as their captain. In addition, Lungi Ngidi, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kwena Maphaka, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius have all been retained by the Royals.

In the top T20 cricket competition in South Africa, each team consists of 19 players. Teams are allowed to employ a minimum of seven South African players and a maximum of four foreign players in their Playing XI.
