KL Rahul has joined an elite list of Indian wicketkeeper batters to score a century away from home. With a century in IND vs SA Centurion Test, KL Rahul has joined the likes of MS Dhoni, Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha to score a century away. This was Rahul’s debut in Test as a wicketkeeper. His century helped India overcome a poor start to post-245.
Vijay Manjrekar was the first Indian wicketkeeper to hit a century back in 1953. His ton came against the West Indies. Then, Ajay Ratra became only the second wicketkeeper-batter to repeat the feat. Rishabh Pant is the only wicketkeeper batter to score four centuries in overseas Tests.
