KL Rahul had luck in his favour as the right-handed batter stroked his 8th Test century against South Africa on Wednesday (December 27). Speaking about the instance, team India were nine down as Prasidh Krishna was facing Gerald Coetzee. The pacer bowled a delivery down leg side as KL Rahul and Krishna managed to steal a single. For some reason, wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne who gathered the ball cleanly behind the wickets, chose not to take a shy at the wickets.
After taking the strike, KL Rahul missed no time as he smashed Coetzee for massive six to complete his century and give team India a respectable total on the board.
Speaking more about KL Rahul innings, the right-handed batter reached his fifty in 80 balls and then raced towards his century early on Day 2 of the match. He slammed a huge six to reach his fifty and replicated the same to reach his century from 133 balls. Rahul stroked 14 fours and 4 sixes to reach his century in some style.
Thanks to his efforts with the bat, team India posted 245 runs in their first innings. In reply, Mohammed Siraj got the wicket of Aiden Markram early in the innings as skipper Dean Elgar and Tony de Zorzi are present in the middle for the Proteas.
