SA vs BAN LIVE: Bangladesh suffer another humiliating collapse, Keshav Maharaj’s 7-wicket haul powers South Africa to 332-run victory
None of the Bangladesh senior batters showed application against Maharaj and Harmer. Mushfiqur Rahim went for an expensive drive and departed for just 1. Meanwhile, Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque was out for five runs by going for an ill-advised sweep shot. Liton Das and Mehidy Hassan only crossed 20.
The visitors were expected to give some tough fight in the two-match Test series considering the hosts were without plenty of their first-choice players. That did not happen as they meekly tamed to South Africa’s spin twins.
Keshav Maharaj was adjudged the player of the match and the series award. He took 16 wickets in two games and also scored 108 runs. South Africa’s resounding 2-0 victory has put them on the second position in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. They now have 60 points and have won five matches and lost just 2.
