Opting to bowl, South Africa bowled out Bangladesh for a paltry total of 84 runs with 10 balls to spare. The Proteas seamers were too hot to handle for Bangladesh’s top order, especially Kagiso Rabada who breathed fire in his opening spell. Rabada finished with 3-20 accounting for the big scalps of M Naim, Soumya Sarkar & Mushfiqur Rahim, and was later adjudged as player of the match.

While Rabada rattled the top-order, Anrich Nortje took care of the lower-middle order and returned for 3-8 in his 3.2 overs. Liton Das, Shamim Hossain, and Mahedi Hasan were the only three Bangladesh batters who managed to score in double digits as the whole side folded up at a mere total of 84 runs.

Coming to chase, the Proteas side had a shaky start as they were reduced to 24/3 inside the powerplay with both opener Reeza Hendricks & Quinton de Kock, and Aiden Markram back in the shed. However, with not many runs on the board, Bangladesh couldn’t further manage to build up the pressure, and Temba Bavuma (31*) along with Rassie van der Dussen (22 off 27) helped the side get over the line. David Miller hit the winning runs after Rassie van der Dussen in the 13th over, with just 6 needed to win.
