The India A batting order collapsed like a pack of cards on Day 1 of their unofficial Test against Australia A. From skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad’s golden duck to the team being bundled out for 107 runs in the 1st innings, nothing went right for the visitors with the bat. Noticeably, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Nitish Kumar Reddy flopped as getting the much deserved call-ups ahead of IND vs AUS Test series.

IND A vs AUS A: Easwaran, Gaikwad and Reddy flop

Ruturaj Gaikwad was the first batter to be sent back to the pavilion as he was sent packing by Buckingham in the first delivery of the second over. Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran, who made his way to the side by hitting century after century in domestic cricket, departed after scoring just seven runs, despite playing 30 deliveries. Apart from Sai Sudharsan (21) and Devdutt Padikkal (36). none of the Indian batters could face the might of Brendan Doggett. The AUS A pacer finished the innings with a spell of 15/6, registering his career-best figures in the format to date.

Mukesh Kumar and Prasidh Krishna bagged two wickets each to leave AUS A reeling at 99/4 at stumps on Day 1. Opener Sam Konstas and Cameron Bancroft were sent packing for ducks while Beau Webster has been the top-scorer so far with a 33-run knock. AUS A trail India A by 8 runs at the end of play on Day 1.
