The incident occurred during the ninth over after an excellent bit of fielding from RR’s wicket-keeper captain Sanju Samson. It was a bullet throw from Samson who collected the ball and quickly disloged the bails. Kohli was way down the track and couldn’t get back in time but there was no run on the offing.

Yuzvendra Chahal played 113 matches for RCB, taking 139 wickets during 2014-2021 period. However, RCB never bid for him and feels hurt. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals were involved in a bidding war before Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals jumped in. Eventually, RR got him for Rs 6.5 Crore.
The decision came even as Chahal emerged as the joint-highest wicket taker among spinners in the last edition of the T20 extravaganza.
