RR vs LSG: Riyan Parag repays trust to Rajasthan Royals after smashing blistering knock against Lucknow Super Giants

Riyan Parag is living the time of his life. The 22-year-old youngster displayed his destructive batting ordeal in the RR vs LSG clash. Promoted up the order after sensational Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, Parag delivered for Rajasthan Royals in their opening game against LSG.

Parag found himself walking into the crease after the early departure of Yashasvi Jasiwal. The Assam player then went on to stitch a solid partnership with Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson.

Though Sanju Samson donned the role of the enforcer, Riyan Parag didn’t just stand idle. In fact he batted at a strike rate a little shy of 150. He smashed a blistering 43 run knock from just 29 balls. Preferring to go the arial route more, the young hard hitter slammed a solitary four and 3 sixes.

Riyan Parag is brimming with confidence. And is mainly due to his heroics in domestic cricket. He smashed the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he slammed 510 runs in 10 games with a strike rate of 183.

“The way I play domestic cricket, is not to think about anything. I just practice and implement in the match. When I joined the team, the message was clear – I will bat where I bat (at number 4) in domestic cricket,” said Parag after his innings.
