RR vs LSG: KL Rahul takes keeping duty, Devdutt Padikkal makes Lucknow debut

RR vs LSG: KL Rahul opted to keep wickets, keeping in mind, that the T20 World Cup is only a couple of months away.

It is match four of the IPL 2024, and Rajasthan Royals take on the Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur. While largely there weren’t any surprises, LSG skipper KL Rahul included Devdutt Padikkal to the team, who recently impressed in the IND vs ENG Test series. This would be the southpaw’s first match with the franchise, who are looking to make a mark this season as well.

Rahul Keeps Wickets on Return from Injury

Rahul decided to move himself to the middle-order, hence Padikkal becomes crucial at the top. Other than that, no other surprise was there. Though there was positive intent shown from Rahul, who decided to take up the keeper’s role, despite coming back from a quadriceps injury. This, in a nutshell is a strong statement in the run up to the T20 World Cup, that he is fit.

Meanwhile, Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran, Marcus Stoinis, and Krunal Pandya comprised of the middle-order. Ravi Bishnoi was included for his wicket-taking ability as a leg-spinner. It would be interesting to see how the pace department of the team performs, since theu do not have any senior fast bowler in the team.
