IPL 2021 – Why Suresh Raina’s form is a disappointment for CSK?
- Barring 54 against DC in the opening match of IPL 2021, Suresh Raina hasn’t managed a thirty in the whole season.
- He hasn’t looked in touch with the bat and has played rash and irresponsible shots.
- He averages 17.77 in the ongoing season; the lowest in the IPL history
- While every team looks to go with their best in the knockout games, CSK too will be thinking of not to have any loose hole in the middle order
In the last match, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming ruled out Suresh Raina’s lean patch and said that the team management trusts him to come good in upcoming matches.
“We have a pretty clear role for him. He has got an optimal time. We want him to bat and we’ve afforded the luxury of a player coming and being aggressive. So, just getting the timing right without managing the batters. We value his experience and everything has got a part to play in the middle. It’s an area where can add strength. Suresh is an experienced player who is earned to have leeway and as the tournament goes on, his performance will improve,” he had said.
