Ahead of the season, the Royals have already suffered a huge blow with pacer Prasidh Krishna being ruled out of the tournament due to injury. However, the franchisee had made some smart signings during the IPL 2023 auction. With Ben Stokes heading to CSK, RR signed seam bowling all-rounder Jason Holder to solve the missing puzzle.
RR have got the West Indian all-rounder for a bargain price of Rs 5.75 Cr. Joe Root will be part of the IPL for the very first time with RR handing the former England skipper his very first contract. Besides Holder and Root, last edition’s runners-up have strengthened the spin department bringing in Adam Zampa and Murugan Ashwin during the auction.
