Jos Buttler dominated with the bat, scoring a century while Prasidh Krishna and Yuzvendra Chahal were fantastic against Mumbai Indians. With both departments firing from all cylinders, RR still have some areas to work on and one of them is batting depth.
Rajasthan’s batting ends with Ravichandran Ashwin at No 7. But both Ashwin and Riyan Parag are not consistent with the bat, making Shimron Hetmyer at No 5 the only reliable batter. And that was evident against MI as well. Had Jos Buttler not scored the century, RR would have been in big trouble.

RR Playing XI vs RCB: Should RR add an extra batter?
- RR’s batting ends with Shimron Hetmyer as Ashwin and Parag aren’t consistent.
- The last four aren’t known for their batting.
- James Neesham is the only all-rounder in the arsenal and could be handy against RCB.
- Navdeep Saini looks to be the only possibility as Riyan Parag has been RR’s blue-eyed boy who is unlikely to be replaced.

As for RR’s batting, it looks all set. Jos Buttler has been in form while Devdutt Padikkal was in good touch in the first match although he failed in the last. Sanju Samson has been consistent while Shimron Hetmyer has looked at his best. The only question mark is on Yashasvi Jaiswal. Although the youngster has shown promise, he hasn’t really lived up to the expectation. But as he is one of the retained players, he is expected to be backed for a couple of more matches.
The bowling, however, looks top-notch. Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna have hunted in packs while Yuzvendra Chahal has been the wicket-taking spinner while R Ashwin has restricted the opponents’ scoring rate.
