India all-rounder R Ashwin was simply sensational in the first IND vs BAN Test in Chennai, where he not only scored his sixth ton, but also managed to take 37th fifer of his career, as he took the team to 280-run win. From the time Bangladesh started the chase, Ashwin looked threating on the third day pitch, that had started to turn.
And he made the most of it by bagging six wickets in the innings. What was important is, he managed to pick the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan on the fourth day, at a time when the southpaw looked good to stich a massive partnership with Najmul Shanto. He ended Shakib’s 56-ball vigil at the crease, and went on to bag 37th fifer of his Test career.

But, Ashwin had a chance to end the match with a seventh wicket too, if not a costly error by skipper Rohit Sharma. With one wicket left for the win, Ashwin was bowling to no. 11 batsman Hasan Mahmud in the 62nd over. The third delivery of the over, spun and bounced sharply from the sixth stump, to kiss the glove of the batsman, with Rishbh Pant pocketing the catch.

Despite the appeal, and suggestions from the fielders, Rohit decided against taking the DRS. But the snicko meter showed that the ball had indeed come in contact with the glove.
