Ro-Ko, Bumrah ‘well rested’, should have played Duleep Trophy: Sanjay Manjrekar

The veteran trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will not be a part of the Duleep Trophy which will commence from September 5

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar objected to resting Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah from Duleep Trophy and reckons that they should have played. His remarks come in the backdrop of the BCCI allowing the veteran trio to enjoy an extended break. Barring these three stars, all of India’s Test stars will be in action in the tournament that will commence from September 5.

‘Ro-Ko, Bumrah should have played Duleep Trophy’

Taking to social media platform X, Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out that India had played 269 international games in the last 5 years out of which Rohit Sharma had played 59% of those matches. Virat Kohli and Bumrah played 61% and 34% respectively. Manjrekar, who is known for not going after players from Mumbai, argued that the trio were ‘well rested’ and should have been picked for the Duleep Trophy.
