Former Indian cricketer Atul Wassan believes that senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are going to win the India cricket team at the ICC Champions Trophy. The fast bowler backs them to come good when it matters the most. The Indian captain had an incredible campaign the last time Team India played an ICC event (T20 World Cup), and while Kohli wasn’t that good in that tournament, he came good in the final against South Africa.
“I am happy. I told you that Rohit and Virat are going to win us the Champions Trophy,” Wassan told ANI.
Baffled by Harshit and Chakaravarthy selection against England
However, Wassan wasn’t exactly sold on Team India’s entire lineup that was playing in the India vs. England ODI series. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy have been selected and even played, but neither is in the squad for India’s ICC Champions Trophy.
But what I can’t understand is why those who are not in the team for the Champions Trophy playing in this series,” he added.

Virat Kohli saving his runs for ICC Champions Trophy
When asked about Kohli’s poor form of late, as the star batter failed against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia in Test cricket and was also dismissed cheaply in the India vs. England 2nd ODI, the former pacer said that Kohli was saving his runs for a big occasion.
“I think he is saving up his runs; he will score when India needs runs,” Wassan concluded.
