Down 0-1 in the India vs Sri Lanka series, it’s imperative that the Men in Blue are at their best in the 3rd ODI. At the risk of losing their first ODI series to Sri Lanka in 27 years, Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir would look to end the tour on a high, drawing the 3-match series 1-1 on August 8. However, their plan might have been derailed.
Rohit Sharma skips India practice
The Indian skipper was present at the R. Premadasa Stadium for India’s practice session ahead of the 3rd ODI but didn’t train. The top-scorer in the 2nd ODI (64) faced some discomfort while chasing 241 and was attended by the physio (Kamlesh Jain) during his stay in the middle.
He apparently faced some discomfort in his right thigh and didn’t train. It is to be noted that all of India’s practice sessions are optional, and no player is forced to attend them. It seems like Rohit took a precautionary rest and could very well be available, but we’ll know about his fitness and participation for the India vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI tomorrow.
