Rohit Sharma Test records in Sydney Cricket Ground

Rohit Sharma could be dropped for the IND vs AUS 5th Test, as speculation about his retirement surrounds him. Let's take a look at his record at the SCG.

Rohit Sharma’s recent struggles in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 have raised concerns, with India missing a solid top-order foundation. The Indian captain will look to regain form in the final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Rohit has played just two Tests at this iconic venue, scoring 170 runs at an average of 42.50, including two half-centuries. His first appearance at SCG was during the 2014-15 tour in the fourth Test, which had no bearing on the series as Australia had already secured a 2-0 lead.

Rohit Sharma could get dropped in IND vs AUS 5th Test

In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25, Rohit Sharma has struggled for form, scoring only 31 runs in three Test matches. KL Rahul was moved to number three as Rohit returned to his opening spot in India’s playing XI for the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. However, this change was criticized and proved unsuccessful. There is speculation that the Indian captain may be dropped in the upcoming match, as Indian coach Gautam Gambhir refused to answer whether Rohit would play in the IND vs AUS 5th Test.
