As expected, three of Mumbai’s star cricketers, Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, will miss the last round of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. The stars featured against Jammu and Kashmir, but due to international duty (the India vs. England ODI series), they’ll skip the match against Meghalaya at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy.
Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer & Jaiswal to skip Ranji Trophy
According to the Times of India, the three stars will miss the domestic match to prioritise their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy, which will kick off on February 19 in Karachi. The India cricket team will play just three ODIs in the lead-up to the event, and therefore it’s time for Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer, all three of whom are part of Team India’s squad for the Champions Trophy, to get into the white-ball groove.
Shivam Dube unavailable & Mumbai’s qualification chances
Apart from these three, Shivam Dube will also miss the must-win match for Mumbai. The all-rounder has been added to Team India’s squad for the England T20Is and therefore won’t be present.
Still not qualified for the quarterfinals of the Ranji Trophy, the 42-time champions need to beat Meghalaya to ensure they stand a chance of moving to the next round. With all on the line, Mumbai will go with four of their best players into the match. However, given they are such a strong team, they are still expected to win.

KL Rahul & Riyan Parag confirmed, doubts over Siraj & Pant
KL Rahul and Riyan Parag will feature in the last round. Rahul had decided to rest from the last game after a long and hard tour of Australia while Parag is returning from an injury. Rishabh Pant did play for Delhi against Saurashtra, but it’s uncertain whether he’ll also play alongside Virat Kohli. As for Mohammed Siraj, he has been practicing in the nets for Hyderabad, but he didn’t feature for them on January 23 and could sit this one out as well.
