Indian skipper Rohit Sharma reached a ‘century’ milestone on his T20I return in IND vs AFG 1st T20I at Mohali on Thursday.
Despite a horrendous outing with the bat, where the Indian opener got run-out on 2-ball duck, Rohit registered a special record, becoming the first player in the history to be part of the 100 wins in men’s T20I.
The 36-year-old is the first in men’s T20I and fourth player overall to reach the 100th T20I win mark.
England’s Danni Wyatt (111) and Australian Women’s cricket duo Alyssa Healy (100) and Ellyse Perry (100) are the other cricketers who have been part of 100 wins in the shortest format.
Players to be part of most T20I wins :-
111 – Danni Wyatt
100 – Alyssa Healy
100 – Ellyse Perry
100* – Rohit Sharma
94 – Meg Lanning
89 – Suzie Bates
86 – Shoaib Malik
Rohit also became the oldest Indian captain to win a T20I match. The Indian opener led Men in Blue to win at 36 years and 256 days.
