Rohit Sharma breaks Suresh Raina’s record for most runs scored in CSK vs MI matches

Among the top five run-scorers in IPL's El Clasico matches, only two are active players (Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni).

Playing at his home, Rohit Sharma has broken yet another record. The former Mumbai Indians skipper needed just 11 runs to go past Chennai Super Kings legend Suresh Raina to become the player with the most runs scored in CSK vs MI matches. The opener did so in the IPL’s El Clasico at the Wankhede Stadium on April 14.

Having played 28 innings, compared to Raina’s 30, Rohit has 747 (as off now) runs to his name with an average of 28 and a strike rate of 128.67. Interestingly, MS Dhoni missed out on the chance to break the record. The former CSK skipper had 655 runs to his name and needed 56 runs to get past his teammate Raina’s record but made only 20.
