Viv Richards feels Rohit Sharma is a big match player and leads from the front

Often Rohit Sharma gets overshadowed due to the attention Virat Kohli gets. Not only the media, but fans, experts, and critics, also never miss any story on Kohli. However, there is not an iota of doubt about Rohit Sharma’s quality as a player. In fact, the RCB superstar has vouched in several of his interviews on the MI batter’s supreme hitting skills. Now, ahead of Asia Cup, Sir Vivian Richards has lavished praise on team India’s skipper, stating he is a very highly skilled player.

When journalist Vimal Kumar questioned about Kohli, the Caribbean Superstar stated that Rohit’s contribution to India is right up there with some of the top players. With two major events coming for India – the Asia Cup and World Cup, Rohit is aiming to make India proud.

“Rohit Sharma is a magnificent player, I like him a lot, he is a man with a highly skilled individual. I always like guys who go out there and express themselves,” Richards said on Vimal Kumar’s YouTube channel.

Currently, Rohit is gearing up for the Asia Cup. The team India skipper is in Alur for a five-day camp before the Continental Cup kicks on August 30. Four matches will be played in Pakistan, while rest of the nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka. Rohit, who did not get much game time during the ODI series against West Indies, the skipper did not get much of game time.

With only two series left before World Cup, the team India skipper will finally have full strength for Asia Cup. The return of Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Shreyas Iyer, & KL Rahul will bolster tea India. Also, Shami and Siraj are also back. India did not reach the final of Asia Cup last year, this time, they will be eager to go one step ahead.
