Last year, the Mumbai Indians (MI) shocked everyone by announcing that Rohit Sharma would not take on the leadership role going forward. Instead, Hardik Pandya will be the franchise’s skipper for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. While the sudden announcement sent shockwaves, it was understandable that Rohit was entering the latter part of his career.
Talks of bad blood between him and MI started swirling around, despite the former skipper claiming that all was well. These rumors turned out to be true when MI head coach Mark Boucher claimed that Rohit Sharma was removed as skipper to give him more freedom.
Hearing this, his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, lashed out and refuted these claims by Boucher. Following her involvement, the Mumbai Indians deleted the post. Now, four days after that incident, Rohit Sharma has come out and penned a heartfelt post for his wife, thanking her for supporting him through thick and thin.
Posting a picture of them together, he wrote, “𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲” on his Instagram account.
