Rohit Sharma looking ‘SUPER-FIT’, reduces weight considerably to get ready for series vs West Indies

Rohit Sharma’s BIG-AGENDA for 2022, ‘Reduce-Weight, Get Fit’, Indian WHITE-BALL captain on a weight-reduction spree at NCA

  • Missing the Test & ODI series in South Africa came as a blessing in disguise as Hitman made the most of it.
  • Rohit has reduced his weight to reduce the burden on his hamstring & knee that has troubled him for a while as advised by NCA experts.
  • Rohit is religiously following the regime set by the trainers at NCA. At 34, Rohit Sharma’s fitness will be key for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 & 50-over World Cup 2023.
  • As per BCCI’s policy, each and every player has to mandatorily appear for fitness tests at the NCA before being awarded ‘fit to play’ certificates.
  • With Virat Kohli stepping down as captain, there is a need for Rohit to remain injury-free to lead the current set-up.

“Rohit’s rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) is going pretty well. He is expected to be okay for the West Indies series. It’s still close to three weeks from now before the first ODI is played in Ahmedabad on February 6,” a BCCI source privy to developments told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
