Rohit Sharma, the captain of India recently has received numerous traffic citations for driving carelessly on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. According to Pune Mirror, Rohit received three online traffic challans for speeding while en route to Pune to join the rest of the Indian cricket team before the World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh. This overspeeding incident by skipper reminded fans of Rishabh Pant horror car accident last year in December.
Rohit Sharma was reportedly driving at astoundingly high speeds—more than 200 km/h and occasionally even 215 km/h—according to traffic police. Three online traffic tickets were issued to his car as a result of his careless driving. Both cricket fans and traffic officials seem worried about this event.
Fans concerned about Rohit Sharma
Concerned about the Indian captain’s high-speed driving on a congested roadway during the World Cup, a source from the traffic department suggested that he should be riding in the team bus with a police escort.
Fans are also concerned for their captain’s safety at the World Cup despite his passion of driving quickly. Notably, ace Indian WK-batter Rishabh Pant was involved in the car accident last Decmeber. He was also overspeeding at that time.
Rohit Sharma’s Lamborghini Urus has a license plate with his highest one-day cricket score, showing his love for the game and high-speed cars. Despite this occurrence, Sharma’s talent as a cricketer is still undisputed.
Rohit Sharma recently showed signs of regaining his form with century against Afghanistan and half-century vs Pakistan, giving Indian cricket fans hope as they continue to back their skipper and the team in the ODI World Cup 2023.
