The Mumbai Indians (MI) may have named Hardik Pandya as their captain, but it seems like it’s Rohit Sharma who’s still leading the side. The 5-time champion has a decade-long experience leading the franchise and is one of the most successful captains in T20 cricket history.
Rohit Sharma takes the captaincy hat from Hardik Pandya
During the first strategic time-out of the MI vs RCB match, it seemed like Rohit took on the role of captain. He was seen guiding Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Gopal, and even wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan.
Interestingly, the move seemed to have worked. Gerald Coetzee returned for his third over and soon sent Rajat Patidar back into the hut. Gopal claimed the wicket of Glenn Maxwell in the 13th over of the first inning and gave the Mumbai Indians their fourth strike.
