Rohit Sharma invites nation to celebrate Team India’s T20 World Cup victory with parade in Mumbai

After Hurricane Beryl extended Team India's stay in Barbados for almost 3 extra days, the T20 World Cup 2024 winners are scheduled to arrive in Delhi on Thursday morning.

Team India’s historic T20 World Cup victory is set to be celebrated in grand style, with captain Rohit Sharma extending a warm invitation to the entire nation to join the festivities.

The team will arrive in Delhi at 6 am on July 4, where they will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast at 11 am. Following this, they will depart for Mumbai, the city that will witness the celebratory parade.

Rohit Sharma with heartwarming invitation

In a tweet that has ignited excitement among fans, Rohit Sharma expressed the team’s desire to share this special moment with the nation. “🇮🇳, we want to enjoy this special moment with all of you,” he wrote. “So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00pm onwards. It’s coming home!”

It will be a historic moment for India, who witnessed their ICC trophy drought end after 13-long years. The parade, which will cover a distance of approximately 2 kilometers from NCPA, Nariman Point, to Wankhede Stadium, promises to be a vibrant display of national pride.

Following the parade, a ceremony will be held at the Wankhede Stadium, likely to feature speeches and further celebration. This is a golden opportunity for fans in Mumbai and across India to join the team in their celebratory spirit.
