Rohit Sharma continues his recovery from injury
Keeping the upcoming World Cup and the Test series against Australia next year in mind, the BCCI is not rushing Rohit Sharma back into the team. After training in Mumbai, Rohit will be heading to NCA in Bangalore next week as a part of the recovery process. With a place in the WTC final at stake, the board wants to ensure that the 35-year-old fully recovers from his finger injury before the Australia series.

A senior BCCI official while speaking to InsideSport said, “Rohit is yet to be 100% and we don’t want to take any risk when it comes to injury. Jadeja and Bumrah are back at the NCA. Their prognosis is good. If they clear the fitness test, they will be eligible for selection. But considering the workload in ODIs, it is only natural that they will return in the ODIs. T20s are not our focus currently,”.
Team India’s T20I squad to witness overhaul for the Sri Lanka series
The sacked selection committee is set to announce the squad for the upcoming IND vs SL T20 series. Hardik Pandya is set to be officially handed the reigns of India’s T20 team. KL Rahul is expected to be dropped from the T20I squad for the Sri Lanka series due to his poor form. It is likely that Rishabh Pant faces axe from the team due to poor form.
Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are likely to be added to the squad. Ishan recently slammed the fastest double-century in ODIs. Sanju has performed well with the limited opportunities presented to him. Sri Lanka is all set to tour India in January next year for a three-match T20I and ODI series. The six-match series will be played in Mumbai, Pune, Rajkot, Guwahati, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram.
