Rohit Sharma heaps praises for Test debutant Sarfaraz Khan after Rajkot heroics

IND vs ENG Rajkot Test: Rohit Sharma asserts Sarfaraz Khan will do his job if he is left alone on the pitch

India Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma heaped praises for Sarfaraz Khan. The Test debutant impressed on both the innings in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot. The 26-year old hammered two fifties to showcase his mark in the longest format of the game. Rohit claimed that if Sarfaraz goes is left free, he will finish the job for the team.

Sarfaraz Khan has been patiently waiting for a call up in India’s Test setup. But when presented with the opportunity, Sarfaraz shined. He was unfortunately dismissed on 62 in the first innings, and remained unbeaten on 68 in the second innings.

“Sarfaraz Khan ko khula aggar chodoge to wo apna kaam kardega(If he is left alone, he will do his job). In Cap presentation he was emotional but he didn’t look nervous at all when match starte,” Rohit Sharma said in the post match press conference.

While Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja hammered double ton and hundred respectively, Sarfaraz’s involvement doesn’t go unnoticed. In the absence of key players, Sarfaraz has finally got his chance to shine.

With Rohit Sharma backing the youngster, the Mumbai batter will be sky high in confidence. He will look to continue scoring runs at a blistering rate in the next matches too.
