Rohit Sharma confident of working well with ‘cheerful’ Gambhir ahead of first captain-coach IND vs SL ODI series

Rohit Sharma categorically stated thar Gambhir had a clear roadmap for the team which he intended to follow ahead of India vs Sri Lanka ODI series

India cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma expressed confidence in new head coach Gautam Gambhir ahead of the IND vs SL ODI series. The three-match series, thar commences from August 2, will see the return of the Hitman and joining forces with Gambhir, who has taken over the reins from Dravid. Ahead of the series, Rohit Sharma noted that Gambhir was a seasoned veteran in the game and was a very ‘cheerful’ person in the dressing room.

Rohit Sharma has no problems with Gambhir

Rohit Sharma categorically stated thar Gambhir had a clear roadmap for the team which he intended to follow. He claimed that the experience of working with Gambhir was going to be different from that of working with Rahul Dravid or Ravi Shastri.

Gauti bhai is a very cheerful person in the dressing room. We shouldn’t try to get into his personal life, whether he wants to smile more or not.Gambhir has played a lot of cricket. He has been involved with lots of franchise as well. It’s going to be different with Gautam like it was different with Dravid and Ravi Shastri before him,” Rohit Sharma said in the pre-match press conference.

This series will mark the first tour for Gambhir and Rohit Sharma as coach and captain, While the Indian ODI skipper has downplayed his emotions over the heartbreaking loss in the ODI World Cup final, he aims to redeem himself under the aegis of Gambhir.
