WTC Final 2023: The World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia is just a few days away and the Indian Test team is working hard in the nets to conquer their first ICC title since 2013. The Men in Blue has kickstarted their practice session at The Oval. Rohit and Co. will feel confident, considering their recent series win against the Aussies. Team India’s last outing at The Oval resulted in a big win against England and the side will take it as a big motivation.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to share images of the Indian side hitting the ground running at the iconic venue. “Prep mode on for Team India,” the BCCI tweeted.

Will The Oval pitch bring any surprise for Team India?
The Oval has produced some memorable matches throughout its storied history. While the second-oldest stadium in the world has been favourable to pacers in the past, the last six outings have seen the opposite. The last six Tests held at The Oval since 2016 have shown that the pitch gets gradually better as the days go on. The first innings average score stands at 269, which increases to 280 in the second innings and reaches a peak of 326 in the third innings. This trend suggests that batting becomes easier as the game unfolds at The Oval.
However, it also needs to be mentioned that most of the matches at The Oval have been held in late August. The change in timing may affect the playing conditions and the behavior of the pitch.
The WTC Final 2023 will begin on June 7.
