Putting aside all the rumours and tensions about his hamstring injury, Rohit Sharma has trained just before the India vs New Zealand Champions Trophy encounter. Rohit was out of the field for a brief moment during the high-octane India vs Pakistan clash before asserting that he pulled up his hamstring under the scorching heat in Dubai.
Rohit Sharma confirmed to play India-New Zealand clash?
But now, Rohit has returned with the bat. In what was India’s last training session before the final league stage game, Rohit was seen batting in the nets, that too, without warming up. The Indian captain didn’t have the gear on and was the only batter barring Shubman Gill not to have a batting session at India’s first training after the IND vs PAK tie. Gill, however, made up for his absence and thus took time on an optional day to hit the nets.
Now, Rohit Sharma casually walked in the nets, brushing away his hamstring concerns. Even during the pre-match press conference, KL Rahul mentioned that there are no major injury concerns in the team.
At practice, Rohit had a solid session, and even hit a mighty six of almost 95 metres. Apart from him, the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul practiced sweeps and reverse sweeps. This might be a ploy to face the likes of Mitchell Santner, and Michael Bracewell on March 2.
