Chris Gayle has dazzled the Indian Premier League (IPL) for 13 long seasons. Post 2008, there are a handful of overseas players who have always got the love in India. The Indian fans always admired Gayle, especially for his mouth-watering T20 skills and the sheer entertainment value he provided with his tremendous power-hitting. Gayle’s camaraderie with Virat Kohli is not a secret to anyone, and the southpaw also cleared that he loved playing against the Mumbai Indians (MI).

Talking about Kohli and MI’s most successful captain, Rohit Sharma, the duo is the undisputed pillar of Indian cricket since 2010. Chris Gayle, meanwhile, who has shared the dressing room with Kohli umpteen times and has gone head-to-head against Rohit, had a fun task with InsideSport, where he had to choose between the two Indian legends.
Quite fascinatingly, Gayle put Rohit’s decision-making above Kohli’s. The reason behind his answer could be the fact that Rohit has won six IPL titles, including 5 as the captain of Mumbai. Having said that, Gayle echoed his love for Kohli as he chose the RCB star 9 times as compared to 4 answers of Rohit.
However, when quizzed about leadership, Gayle was quick to respond “Rohit” and not Kohli. Amazingly, the Jamaican powerhouse, who has 4965 IPL runs to his name, went on to pick Kohli for having a “better IPL legacy”. It was a bit surprising as Kohli’s only unfulfilled dream is to lift the elusive IPL title. Regardless, with 8101 IPL runs, he’s leaps and bounds ahead of every batter.
For power-hitting, leadership, decision-making, and range of shots, Gayle went for the Hitman. Meanwhile, Kohli was chosen by Gayle for the aspects of fitness, popularity, footwork, IPL legacy, style, fielding, selflessness, country legacy and finisher.
