Rohit Sharma attempts superhuman catch in IND vs AFG 1st T20I

While there have been controversies in the past about aged players in the Indian team not contributing enough on the field, Rohit Sharma's catch attempt shows he is just as good as the newcomers on the field.

If we talk about the best fielders in the current Indian team, skipper Rohit Sharma is a name that won’t come to mind among the first few contenders. However, the Indian captain was on fire on the field in the IND vs AFG first T20I on Thursday. The Indian captain held on to the catch of his dangerous looking Afghan counterpart Ibrahim Zadran. While that was a simple catch, an attempt from Rohit Sharma on short covers off the bowling of Shivam Dube grabbed the eyeballs.

Rohit Sharma, who will be turning 37 this April, attempted a superhuman catch on Thursday. The incident occurred in the 10th over. Shivam Dube’s good length ball was attempted to hit over covers by Afghan batter Azmatullah Omarzai.

Rohit Sharma, standing inside the 30-yard circle, reacted quickly and made a spot jump. The ball was travelling quickly but Rohit Sharma managed to get a hand on the ball. However, he failed to hold on to the ball but certainly stopped three runs for his team.
