Riyan Parag is in the form of his life. After scoring 155 against Chhattisgarh, the right-handed batter has scored his second successive ton against Kerala in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24. Despite his incredible form, Parag was snubbed by the selectors for the IND vs ENG test series.
It seems like this omission from the India cricket team has fueled the fire inside of him. Parag, who is leading Assam, has been the lone warrior. Despite his blazing 56-ball ton in the last match, Assam lost by 10 wickets.
Now, in Assam’s second match against Kerala, Riyan Parag has once again played a lone warrior innings. The skipper walked into bat when Assam was reduced to 25/3 and was trailing by 394 runs.
However, Parag seemed unbothered. He scored his second successive ton in just 104 balls, with the next-best score being 31 by opener Rishav Das.
Despite his glorious ton, the batter couldn’t rescue his team from the tough situation. Soon after his century, he was trapped in front by Suresh Vishweshwar and had to depart for a well-made 116 of 125 balls. His innings comprised 16 boundaries and 3 maximums.
With his wicket falling, Assam has been left stranded at 190/6, still trailing by 229 runs.
