Riyan Parag has etched his name in Indian cricket history by becoming the first player from Assam to to represent the national team. He played his first T20I match against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on Saturday.
He was also the first cricketer from Assam to play for the under-19 World Cup back in 2018.

Failed to make a mark in the first T20I
Riyan failed to put on a show in his first-ever T20 international match. He only managed to score 2 runs on 3 balls.
Great performance in IPL paved the way
Parag’s exceptional performance in the IPL 2024 undoubtedly played an important role in securing him a spot in the national squad.
He smashed 573 runs in 15 matches, including four half-centuries. This consistent and explosive batting display managed to get him into the Indian squad.
