Rajasthan Royals were handed their second defeat in the campaign after Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched a 1-run win. Ace RR batter Riyan Parag claimed that the Royals made few mistakes in 2-3 overs of the game which ultimately costed themselves of the win. RR continues to top the charts with 8 wins from 10 games.
“Never fun to end up on the losing side. We did a lot of things right and will focus on that, rather than dwelling on the mistakes. We are at a good position in the table and just 1 bad game. Had 2-3 errors and that cost us the game, but that is how T20 cricket and IPL is,” said Riyan Parag after the game.
“You have to give credit to SRH for how they bowled. It is their home ground and they surely bowled like they knew how the wicket was playing. Credit where it is due, they bowled better than us,” Parag added.
Rare defeat for Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals looked well on course to secure their 9th win of the campaign. But eventually the table toppers were handed a 1-run defeat. Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to score 201 runs. Travis Head slammed yet another fifty (58) while Nitish Reddy’s 76 with Klaasen’s blistering 42 gave a good finish to SRH’s innings.
RR too replied strongly. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 67 and was complemented by Riyan Parag’s 77. But in the end, RR went on to lose a few more wickets and couldn’t finish the game.
