Ritika Sajdeh reaction on CSK’s post about Rohit Sharma spark rumours of trade

The five-time champs MI named Hardik Pandya as their new skipper replacing Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh recently left a comment on the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Instagram post praising the veteran batter. CSK honoured Rohit with a special clip on the social networking sites, marking the conclusion of his captaincy with MI. Under Rohit’s leadership, MI won five titles since he assumed control in 2013. Nevertheless, the MI abruptly removed him from the post as Hardik Pandya took over the reins.

Rohit Sharma fans on the social media were left betrayed with the decision as some of them felt that the senior batter should have continued to lead the five-time champions.

MI recently traded Pandya from Gujarat Titans (GT) at the end of last month. According to reports, Hardik Pandya returned only after he was assured of being appointed as the captain. Mumbai Indians made an official announcement about the change in guard through their social media handles on Friday.

Apart from the fans, several cricket experts and players also expressed their surprise on the removal of Rohit Sharma as the captain.

“I’m surprised that MI have moved on from Rohit Sharma so early. It happened so quickly, I’m also a little surprised. When they did the trade, it was probably communicated to Hardik that he is going to come in as the captain. But whether it was communicated to Rohit, I don’t know,” said former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer.
