While Rishabh Pant looked in fine touch so far since making his comeback from injury, this is the first instance where he has looked uncomfortable and has walked off the field. The southpaw’s injury scare comes as a blow to India who have already let the IND vs NZ 1st Test slip out of their hands with miserable performances with both bat and ball.

Rishabh Pant’s comeback journey

A horrific car crash in December 2022 left Rishabh Pant out of action for nearly over a year. The star made his comeback to competitive cricket in IPL 2024 after undergoing a tough time recovering from the injury and rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. While he was a part of India’s T20 World Cup winning squad, he made his comeback to the longest format of the game as India’s first-choice keeper in the series against Bangladesh. Pant will be crucial for India’s upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia where he will be hoping to replicate his heroics from 2021.
